Quinten Prugnieres of F&H Racing scored a top ten moto finish in the Grand Prix of Latvia. Prugnieres crossed the finish line in ninth place in the first moto and then had a very strong beginning in the second heat. Unfortunately he lost his rhythm and fell back to twelfth place.
The ninth race of the MX2 World Championship was held on the sand circuit of Kegums, a complete change from the hard pack track of Teutschenthal, where the riders raced a weekend earlier. Just like in Germany, the riders had challenging weather conditions again, making it a tough and difficult race.
In the first race on Sunday, the circuit was still in perfect condition and the Frenchman got off to a good start. He started the race in the top ten and then rode at a good pace to seventh place. Unfortunately, he could not hold on and he had to give up two more places in the final stages, ultimately crossing the finish line in ninth place.
In the second moto Prugnieres got a very good start and managed to work his way up to second place in the beginning. He managed to maintain this for a number of laps, but it also cost him a lot of strength. After a few laps it started to become more difficult and he lost his rhythm. Finally he finished the race in twelfth position.
With these results he finished in eleventh position overall and stays in tenth position in the world championship standings. Next weekend the series continues in Maggiora in Italy.
